Donald Briere
Don's Journey in Cannabis

The story of WEEDS starts in the 1990's, when Donald Briere suffered a compound fracture during a motorcycle accident, forcing him to retire from the BC logging industry in search of other opportunities. By 1999, Don had established the largest network of grow-ops the RCMP had ever seen, which he was subsequently charged for. After serving his time, he started his next venture in 2004 with his partner Carol Gwilt where they opened the worlds first storefront openly selling Cannabis to adults, DAKINE, which also landed them charges after international attention.

WEEDS was officially founded in 2013 after years advocation and protest — leading Cannabis dispensaries out of the black market, into the grey, and ultimately into legalization. WEEDS operated over 40 Cannabis dispensaries in 6 provinces, exceeding 275 employees. We love to promote our staff who best promote themselves to excel within our company.

Don's family continues his legacy with the WEEDS Cultivation and Farmgate store by leveraging his many years of Cannabis experience to produce the freshest smoking/vaping experience possible.
